Chicken Sopas for the Reader's Bowl

7 Nostalgically Formed Minutes of Sunscreened Advice

The first half of the term was light, so all those big tasks got piled up on its other half. There's still time for hanging out and eating out, though.

And for listening to songs to live by.
Here's a old, narrative one - the song's not narrative because it's old - from a guy who sounds like Louie D from Countdown Top 7, with the same wit.

Everybody's Free (to Wear Sunscreen) - Baz Luhrmann

Just What is Up with Blogging?

I stumbled upon a blogpost my sister published - her first and last - around these weeks a few years ago. I was just starting out with blogging at that time, and she, ever the supportive, had this to say...

Up to now, she still has that same reaction. Haha.

Well, what can I say, it's actually I Love to Write Day today.

Fisheyes and 'Fireflies'

Caught Senior Year around this time a year ago. And until now, I wonder if my last year was anything like that. Sure, we were Boys are Back dreamers and we, too, wanted all - but we didn't get it. None of us had a tree house and a red cape. We lost in our last big game. And our final production number... Well, the CD containing our grad song got forgotten, so we had to do it without any accompaniment. How's that for a musical?

Also, our heads would be cut off the moment we were caught dancing on the school's rooftop or wearing a red toga on grad day.

HS life could pass off more as something from Owl City than any song from the franchise. But every now and then, we still get together and talk. Even if the prom stage, and practically every stage we had, were never as big and decked out as the ones in the movie -- friends were just as true.

Thanks to Carlo for the shot.

"The Only Japanese I Remember is 'Taikutsu Na'"

My days have been like what's on our family TV lately. Partly Glee, partly The Wonder Years...
...and just about enough hints of I Survived a Japanese Gameshow.

This Little Song

Life's this little song I can't seem to sing alone.
As short as it is, these choruses are just too big
and these notes are too high,
I need some help to reach them.
And did I mention I cannot sing any kind of falsetto?
We all got our own tunes in our hearts,
but life is a little song that I cannot sing alone.
Even animated penguins seem to know that.
