Chicken Sopas for the Reader's Bowl

My First Post as a 17-Year-Old

Today was probably one of the simplest birthday celebrations that I have ever had. In school, it felt like a special ordinary day, if there is such a thing. Sure, it did feel kind of different since it was 'my day'. But, I guess that it also felt normal since I tried to keep the whole thing in a low profile. I would only talk about it when I was just greeted or if somebody brought it up. It's funny, though, on how I liked the simplicity of the day. Just take out the fact that our COMPLAB had one of the hardest exercises to solve, and a little Math confusion here and there.

Then, when I finally arrived home and the family was complete, we had a quiet dinner out at a restaurant with relaxing ambience and nice food.

I guess that you could say that the whole day was wrapped around simplicity, really. That's probably what I've picked up being a 16-year old. With all that has happened in the past year, I learned to appreciate life as what it is and just let things be.

Again, I thank all those who greeted me on my birthday. It was nice to know that you, guys, remembered even if I wasn't that vocal about it. (Or was Friendster's alert feature that helpful? Haha Kidding.) Thanks, guys! Hopefully, my 17th year on Earth would be a productive one. :)

P.S. The picture features shots from the family outing we had last Saturday - Monday. We spent the whole long weekend at the beach, in the house and elsewhere. Hehe. Too bad, though, I wasn't able to attend our high school batch's reunion last Monday.

P.P.S. Yes, it's barely been 6 months since we graduated, but we already had our reunion. XD

One COMPRO1, Too Many

(Sung in the tune of Syesha Mercado's "One Rock 'n' Roll, Too Many")

One COMPRO1, too many,
Sleep too few
Too much practice problems,
Take its toll out of you

The program’s so wrong
and it’s not working
My code's too long,
TC’s out of memory

One COMPRO1, too many,
Takes its toll... out, out of you

One COMPRO1, too many,
One more bloody turn-out
And that exam ‘til 8,
Makes you twist, twist and shout

There's been too many strobes from your computer screen
You got too many bugs and not enough NPE,
One COMPRO1, too many
Takes its toll out, out of you

One COMPRO1, too many,
I can hear no more.
What did you say?
I can hear nothing.
What was my grade?
I can hear nothing.
I can hear nothing,
Oh, Sir Alain,
Was that my highest
possible grade?

One COMPRO1, too many
Takes a toll...
Out of you!
